Worksheet Crafter comes with an integrated spell checker for easily tracking and correcting misspellings in your worksheets. Misspellings are highlighted with dashed red lines:
Installing a Spellchecker Dictionary
The Premium and Unlimited Edition by default include dictionaries for the German language. You can however easily install dictionaries for other language by following these steps:
1.Download your dictionary from this page. The page is in German language, but you will find all downloads at end of the page. The US dictionary is called en_US.wsc-dict.
2.On your computer, open the folder which holds the spellchecker dictionaries for Worksheet Crafter. To do so, open the View menu in Worksheet Crafter, click on Spellchecker and then click on the Open user dictionaries folder menu item. A new explorer/finder window should now open, showing a folder called Dictionaries.
3.Copy your previously downloaded dictionary file into that folder
4.Restart Worksheet Crafter
5.Open the menu View => Spellchecker again. Your dictionary should now show up in the list. Enable it with a single click.
Enabling & Disabling the Spellchecker
You can enable and disable the spellchecker via the View => Spellchecker menu. Also use this menu to specify which of the installed spellchecker dictionaries shall be used:
Spellchecker Capabilities
The spellchecker provides a similar feature set as OpenOffice and LibreOffice. Simple word misspellings are typically properly detected. A grammar check, e.g. for verifying the case sensitivity, is not included.
Showing and Applying Suggestions
To show suggestions for corrections, perform a right click on a spelling mistake. Note that this only works inside the text item, i.e. while you are editing the text. If you are outside the text item then first perform a double click to enter the item. The context menu now shows suggestions in bold letters:
Choose one of the suggestions to apply it on your text.
Ignoring Misspellings
If you believe that your word is properly written and Worksheet Crafter incorrectly shows a warning then you have two options vie the previously mentioned right-click context menu:
•The Ignore command ignores the misspelling in this text item. Other items will still mark this spelling as invalid.
•The Add to spellchecker dictionary command permanently adds the spelling to the spellchecker dictionary. The spellchecker will treat this spelling as valid in future, both in this item and in all other items and worksheets.
In both cases you can easily revert your decision at any time by using the reverse commands provided in the context menu.
