Worksheet Crafter is a desktop application running locally on the respective computer. There are two possible login methods. Depending on your school network one or the other is preferable.

 

The login method is chosen during installation.

 

Single User Login

 

Each teacher in the school uses their own computer login. The Worksheet Crafter asks the teacher only at the first application start for their license data. The data will then be stored in the HKCU area of the registry and used for all future application starts on this computer and this user account.

 

Multi User Login

 

Multiple teachers use a shared computer login on one ore multiple school computers. This means that all teachers use the same Windows user account.

 

In this case the Windows user is ambiguous. For this reason Worksheet Crafter does the following:

 

1.If Worksheet Crafter is started for the first time on this computer the teacher is asked for their name and personal license data. Both is stored with encryption (in AppData/Roaming) and the Worksheet Crafter is started.

2.On quitting Worksheet Crafter the computer remembers the login for 60 seconds. If the teacher starts Worksheet Crafter in this time, no new login is required (AutoLogin). This way the user does not need to log in each time they close the application and open a new worksheet.

3.On later Worksheet Crafter starts a quick login window is shown. The teacher selects their name from a list and only has to enter the first three positions of their license. On success Worksheet Crafter starts.

 

Both settings for login method and AutoLogin time can be set up in the configuration file.

 

Our Recommendation

 

We recommend to create separate operation system accounts (e.g. Windows-Logins) for each teacher. This way all user data is separated in a clean way. In this case Worksheet Crafter can be used with single user login without issue.

 

The multi user login is only recommendable if the school network does not provide separate computer logins for the teachers.
