Worksheet Crafter User Manual
Most of the language related exercises get directly applied to text. Due to this these exercises are not listed in the left item bar. Instead they are shown in the right sidebar whenever you are editing text.
Applying an Exercise
Both the text item, the handwriting line and tables provide the possibility to apply language exercises to the text. To do so, enter the item with a double click. You will then see a list of language exercises in the right sidebar, underneath the item properties. Simply click on the
desired exercise to apply it.
By default the exercise is applied to the complete exercise. If you want to limit the exercise to a specific part of the text then select the relevant text before you apply the exercise.
Adjusting the Active Exercise
Once you have applied an exercise Worksheet Crafter will show the exercise properties in the right sidebar, directly underneath the list of exercises. Use these properties to adjust the exercise to your specific requirements. You will also find there a button called "Undo this modification", which you can use to revert your changes.

Worksheet Crafter provides the following exercises:
Colorizing Syllables
Colorizes the syllables in the text. See the chapter "Colorizing syllables" for details.

Color specific letters or letter combinations to let your pupils focus on practicing them.
Punctuation marks can not be colored.
The exercise has the following settings:
Reset all: |
Go back to the initial setting. To revert the coloring use the button "Undo this modification" below the settings. |
Every vowel: |
Choose a color for the vowels in the text. |
Every umlaut: |
Choose a color for the umlauts in the text. |
Every consonant: |
Choose a color for the consonants in the text. |
Every first letter: |
Choose a color for the first letter of every word in the text. |
Every last letter: |
Choose a color for the last letter of every word in the text. |
Custom Selection 1-3: |
For your own selection the following settings are available: |
Letter (combination)s: |
Enter the letters or letter combinations for the selection. Example: "sch". This option is case sensitive. You can use "A" to color only the capital letters. |
Position: |
Restrict the selection to the "Beginning of word" or the "End of word" or leave it at "Any position". |
Color: |
Choose the color for this selection. |

Replaces words, parts of words or punctuation marks with gaps. It has the following properties:
Exercise Type: |
Choose what to replace with gaps (complete word, inner letters, beginning of word, end of word, single letters, letter combinations, punctuation marks). |
Placement: |
Automatically select random gaps or choose them manually with the mouse. However, manual selection is not available for page frame elements or tables. In automatic placement only words with a certain minimum of letters are chosen. The minimum depends on the selected exercise type and is usually around three or four letters. |
Gaps: |
Set the number of gaps for automatic placement, gap style and gap length. |
Solutions: |
Choose whether to show solution words at the end of the text. Choose the order and separator for the solutions. The original order for manual selection is the order in which you picked the gap words. |
Scramble words
Scrambles the words within the sentences or the letters within the words.
Scramble sentences
Rearranges the sentences within the text in a random order
Reverts the text so that it needs to be read backwards. The properties allow you to fine-tune what exactly gets reverted.
Word chain
Removes any whitespace from the text, thus creating a chain of letters from the txt
Capitals only
Converts the text to upper case
Lower-case only
Converts the text to lower case
